Senior Engineer - Operational Support

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and evaluate AGC performance and Member States’ response following system disturbances.
• Analyse HVDC operation, including DRPS and Frequency Control, and identify any malfunctions.
• Monitor system inertia and overall system performance.
• Review and validate ancillary services status.
• Verify the performance of protection and control schemes (RAS, RVCS, UFLS).
• Conduct post-event analysis following system disturbances and tripping events.
• Investigate the operation of protection systems and identify root causes.
• Ensure accurate recording of outage events, including detailed timelines, and proper documentation.
• Follow up on recommendations from operational and technical studies.
• Perform gap analysis of SOPs and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety policies.
• Review the black start restoration plans.
• Audit the drills that have been conducted.
• Evaluate the drills and lesson learnt.
• Audit the switching sequences after completion from ICC.  
• Ensure all switching steps are reviewed and approved by at least two ICEs.
• Ensure all changes are formally documented (no informal or handwritten updates).
• Review outage records and ensure proper archiving.
• Support and review operational audits related to ICC activities, systems, and operations.
• Follow up on audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with Asset Management on pending or overdue operational actions (e.g., LOAs).
