We are seeking a Senior Specialist – Contracts is responsible for overseeing the management, drafting, negotiation, and compliance of contracts across the organization. The role ensures that all contractual agreements align with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This position requires expertise in contract lifecycle management, risk assessment, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to optimize contract performance. The Senior Specialist plays a key role in minimizing contractual risks while maximizing the value of agreements in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the department’s yearly plan and budget related to contract management and administration.
- Collaborate with leadership to define contract strategies that support overall business objectives.
- Monitor adherence to the organization’s contract management policies and procedures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and more.
- Evaluate contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead complex negotiations with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to secure favorable contract terms.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts, ensuring accurate documentation, timely renewals, and proactive issue resolution.
- Establish and maintain a centralized contract repository to track key milestones, deliverables, and obligations.
- Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and conditions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, providing recommendations to minimize exposure and protect the organization’s interests.
- Ensure that all contracts comply with internal policies, legal standards, and industry regulations.
- Conduct periodic contract audits to verify compliance and recommend improvements.
- Work closely with internal departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to align contract management practices with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on contract-related processes and best practices.
- Support the resolution of disputes and issues related to contract execution.
- Prepare regular reports on contract status, risks, and performance for senior management.
- Analyze contract data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Recommend and implement improvements in contract management processes and systems.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, legal developments, and emerging trends in contract management.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and risk management.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to contracts in the energy, utility, or infrastructure sectors is preferred.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical conduct.
